" To Whom It Concerns,

I have had the privilege of knowing Sarah Brink for over twelve years. I first met Sarah in second grade when she came to the school I was working in as an art teacher. Sarah, even at an early age, showed great promis as an artist. I remained her art teacher until she went to middle shcool and high school. Sarah visited me often during this time seeking advice about her art work. Once she graduated I did not see her again until she signed up for my art education classes at Bowilng Green State University.

It is a pleasure to have the privilege to write this letter of recomendation for Sarah. She has continued to develop into a serious artist and art educator. She is very determined to become an excellent art teacher. She has worked very hard in class to develop lessons that are exciting and appropriate for children grades K-12. She is very organized and understands what it takes to become a good teacher. She has demonstrated excellent control when working in the classroom and wants to challenge her students to achieve on the hights level possible.

Sincearly,

"To Whom It May Concern,

Sarah Brink requested a letter of recommendation for her application package and I am pleased to comply.

I worked with Sarah for the past two years as her instructor for intermediate through advanced painting courses. Since our relationship was primarily studio based, I’m unable to offer much insight regarding her training or accomplishments as a teacher. I leave that to Sarah and others. I will instead speak to Sarah’s performance as a young artist here at BGSU and bear witness to her outstanding personal qualities.

The last class we shared, a glazing techniques summer workshop, served to underscore my assessment of Sarah as a student and as a person. She displayed intellectual curiosity, an ability to work independently, reliability and adaptability; attributes I consider critical in targeting a student’s potential for success. She was always timely, prepared and a willing participant in class / school activities. In critiques her observations, questions and suggestions contributed to lively dialogue and, on occasion, helped to qualify the exercise for many of us.

The work produced for her senior project revolved around the theme of portraiture and how light and color impacted the emotive quality of her subjects. Sarah made a great personal investment in researching, planning and working on her paintings. As she grew to understand her ideas and how to best communicate them her improvement as a painter became readily apparent with the results being a very strong, cohesive body of work.

Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to speak to Sarah’s character. She is bright, articulate and thoughtful. She is sensitive to her surroundings without being a pushover. She’s easy to engage in conversation, has a great sense of humor and truly works well with others. Moreover, I think it is to her advantage that she be defined not as an art teacher but rather as an artist who is highly qualified to teach.

She comes to you with my highest regard and recommendation.

Sincerely,

Dennis Wojtkiewicz

To Whom It May Concern:

This is a letter of recommendation for Sarah Brink.  In fall of 2014, I had the opportunity to supervise Sarah for a Painting class during the high school portion of her student teaching semester for Bowling Green State University.  Having been an art teacher at Liberty-Benton High School in Findlay, Ohio for 11 years, and feel I am in a good position to judge the potential ability for Sarah’s goal to be an Art Educator.  She possesses strengths that I believe will make her an incredible prospect and a fantastic addition to any high school staff.

Among Sarah’s many strengths I would cite:  her meticulous organization; thoroughly compiled information for demonstrations; her artistic background and complete knowledge of the subject areas; and finally, her patience and rapport with her students.  Also, through her professional mannerism, she has the ability to quickly gain and maintain respect from the students.  She maintained excellent classroom control and her great knowledge of the subject matter created a wonderful learning environment for all levels of students.  She treated all the students equally and maintained an excellent teacher/student relationship in the classroom.

Sarah was always prepared and well organized.  Her introductions of the project (Portraits in oil paint) were thorough, and incredibly detailed.  Handouts supported by video presentations, outstanding examples of her own work and excellent hands-on demonstrations of several techniques had her class well prepared.  Her organization skills and thorough planning are among her great strengths.

Maintaining high levels of professionalism, Sarah has only solidified my first impression of her teaching potential.  I feel that I have benefited from her placement at Liberty-Benton and again think she would be an incredible prospect and a fantastic addition to any high school staff.

Sincerely,

Lance E. Stevens

"To Whom It May Concern:

It is an honor to have been asked by Sarah Brink to write a letter of Recommendation on her Behalf. Over the past few months I have come to know Sarah as a hard-working, very talented and highly-motivated sstudent teacher.

In her former role as a student at Van Buren, Miss Brink maintained high academic standards while carrying an impressive course load. In addition, sarah put forth an extreme amount of extra work toward her involvement in art. An incredible artist, Srah's talents are ccentuated by her incredible work ethic and meticulous approach to all of her work.

During her student teaching experience I personally witnessed her instructing students in an individual based setting, leading a class, presenting a technique of portrait painting in oil and helping a student with a drawing. In all situations she handled hersle fiwth utmost professionalism and showed a tremendous knowledge of the mediums with which they were working.

I personally feel that Sarah Brink would represent any school district with the same qualities which she built her very pleasant and hard-working reputation upon while teaching Liberty-Benton High school.

Sincerely,

Jack Quisno"
